The prime mission of CDAC is to bring India on the computing map of the world. To achieve this the route of imparting training in the local languages was adopted. This training programme has been named as CDAC PACE.. This initiative was started in January 1996.
Under the PACE banner training centres were called CDAC GIST - PACE Authorised training Centres. The unique feature of these bureaus have been that the courses are designed in such way that the usage of Indian Languages is taught. Even the communication is done in the local languages. This ensures better understanding of the concepts, at a very reasonable fee structure. Other than the medium of teaching, the structure of the courseware is also such that the needs of all kinds of users can be taken care of. The design is such that if the person wants to pursue a career in software industry, he can continue by enrolling in the high end courses offered by ACTS or other specialized training institutions. PACE programme is closely monitored by CDAC and its state level agencies, to ensure high quality of instruction. A lot of emphasis is laid on close interaction with the industry, projects during the courses, feedback mechanism etc. There are a number of courses offered through the PACE programme, these are certificate and diploma courses, designed to address the needs of a large spectrum of students. This program is spread nationwide and serves the needs of IT for the masses. |
